Organist Angie Doty will perform from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Thursday, June 24 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, presenting an organ concert titled “Pulling Out the Stops.” It will feature grand works by Buxtehude, Karg-Elert, a delightful arrangement of “Count Your Blessings, by Dan Miller, and other organ pieces sure to delight. Doty holds an organ performance, vocal performance and K-12 vocal music education degree from the University of Minnesota, Morris, where she studied organ under the direction of Kay Carlson.She has held various director of church music positions throughout her career. She also has been the principal organist at Faith Lutheran from 2009-2017, and again from 2019 to the present time. She teaches elementary classroom music in Anoka Hennepin, ISD 11. She started playing organ for worship services at Grace Lutheran Church in Sebeka when she was in junior high school with the help of her mother, Alice Gronlund, who is a piano and organ teacher. Covid guidelines will be followed and there will be no social time.
