
Performing at the Noon Hour Concert from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Thursday, July 14 at Calvary Lutheran Church will be Emily Bergeron and Eric Gustafson. Free will donations will be accepted. Emily Bergeron is a mezzo-soprano from Bemidji and a recent graduate of Bemidji State University (BSU), where she earned a degree in vocal performance. Emily participated in BSU’s Opera Theater program, the Bemidji Choir and Chamber Singers and BSU’s String Ensemble (viola). Some of her favorite roles at BSU include Carmen in scenes from Bizet’s Carmen, Miss Todd in Menotti’s The Old Maid and the Thief and The Mother in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors. She was the 2021-22 recipient of the Carl O. Thompson Memorial Scholarship, and participated and placed in the Minnesota NATS program during her time at BSU, as well. Emily will be pursuing a graduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the fall, where she will continue to study vocal performance.
