Noon Hour Concert: Timothy Pinkerton, violin, Sarah Carlson, piano

Timothy Pinkerton will return to play at the Noon Hour Concert Thursday, June 20 from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church. Free will donations are accepted. Pinkerton is a 19-year-old violinist hailing from Bemidji, where his musical education started at age six. His orchestral career began at age 10 with the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra (BSO) with which he recently completed seven seasons, primarily rotating as Concertmaster and Principal Second Violin. Additionally, he was featured as a soloist with both the BSO and the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony. He is now pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Last summer, Pinkerton was a member of Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra (USA) program on a North American tour. This summer, he will perform in the Bowdoin International Music Festival in Brunswick, ME, and the Domaine Forget de Charlevoix Academy in Quebéc.

Accompanist Sarah Carlson received her Master of Music in organ performance from the University of Iowa and her Bachelor of Music from St. Olaf College. She is currently Director of Music Ministry at First Lutheran Church in Bemidji.
