Paint with all the colors of Itasca, Science in Nature

August 16, 2022

Ever look at a plant and think, ‘wow, those colors are neat!’? At an event from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, August 16, participants will not only learn about the plant pigments that produce those colors, but also learn where to find plants that produce those pigments in different biomes around Itasca while creating some art using plant pigments! The session will be held at the Jacob V. Brower Visitor Center. Are you curious how nature functions? Uncover the mysteries of nature during this Science in Nature series of activities! Guests are Lucy Schroeder and Alex Crum, PhD students, University of Minnesota Twin Cities. This program is coordinated by the University of Minnesota’s Itasca Biological Station and Itasca State Park.
